Officially Waiting

Hi~ We have had a very snowy day here today! We walked about a mile in the snow to go get dinner. At times the snow and the wind was so hard that it was blowing horizontally straight in our faces and Jason would jump in front of me and Grant and tell us to look down and follow his shoes to walk. We had so much snow on us when we got there that we looked a little like snowmen, hehe! We found a taxi to take us back home after we ate. It is still snowing now! Today, we also found a mini-supermarket at the end of our street, which is great!!
We have finished our paperwork and it has been turned in, so although we have been waiting for our 2nd appointment, now we are officially waiting! We are not sure how long this will take, but we believe our facilitators are really trying to help us get one as quick as possible. While we have been back in Kiev, we have had the opportunity to spend time with the family that I told you about from Birmingham, AL that are also waiting on a 2nd appointment, Jerry and Amanda Hood. We have been meeting up with them a lot since we have been back in Kiev and have really enjoyed their company. It is kind of strange that we had to go all the way to Ukraine to meet when back home we only live about an hour away from each other. Jerry is a high school football coach at one school in B-ham and Amanda is an Assistant Principal at another high school in B-ham. Jason was familiar with both schools and teams, so it has been fun hearing about this, but mostly it is a blessing to have another family to share the ups and downs with. If you will, please add them to your prayers as they wait for their 2nd appointment also.

Also, Just for fun, I added a Photo Guestbook at the bottom of the page. We would love to see photos while we are here of friends and family and also put faces with those we may have not met in person, but that are following our journey.

He has been talking about Max a lot today.

It's 9:30 and I'm just leaving work. I came in Sun evening at 6:00 and left same time, next day. Been kinda busy. We all think about y'all all the time, and can't wait for the next blog. Grant, please bottle up some of that snow and bring it home to me. We're all praying for you and expect God to make things happen expeditiously ($5.00 word). Our love to you all. Dad

Wow! We can't believe all of the snow! What an experience. And I never would have expected a TGIF in Ukraine, but I am so glad it is! I am so sorry that your first appointment didn't work out. I remember you saying that happens sometimes, but I know that was hard. Even though your decision was tough, God will give you the peace you need to go on and He does have a master plan for you! He will use everything for His glory and He may even use you in the process. Just like your new friends from B'ham are now there for you. It is no coincidence that they are there. God's plans are perfect...not always easy, but perfect. You are all such an inspiration to me. I will pray for your second appointment to come quickly and will also pray for your new friends. Much Love! Lisa

Praying with you. Reminder that the time in Ukraine changes on Saturday night...just a heads-up so that you don't miss church!

Thankful that the weather is warming up a bit (though, as you know, that can change in a heartbeat).

We'll keep reading to stay posted on your happenings, but do know that we are only a phone call away. And a metro ride!
